How many of you are fans of online shopping? Maybe you’ve been eyeing that dress on your favourite online shopping site for quite some time. Perhaps you’re still waiting for your novel to arrive at the point of posting. In this post, we’ll take a look at how online shopping can be an exciting experience, regardless whether you’re a seasoned online shopper or a first-timer.
You can shop at any time of the day
Want to shop in your pyjamas? Go ahead! Maybe you’re like me who prefers to browse through things in the afternoon.
You don’t have to deal with impolite salesgirls or salesmen
“I hate the salesgirl at XXX because she kept following my every step, thinking that it’s a good strategy to make me buy things,” my coursemate related this to me once. With online shopping, you don’t have to feel unnecessarily pressured by salesgirls and salesmen. Don’t get me wrong, retailers. There are some really good ones. However, there are others who are impolite and brash. So, how can you expect return customers?
You can plan a giveaway
With the popularity of coupon sites, it’s much easier to plan a giveaway. For instance, my previous company had a little ‘surprise’ for all staff in the lead-up to Christmas 2015. Oh, by the way, in case you’re wondering, I gave my voucher away. Double giveaway? 😛
You can save much cash
According to a 2014 study on Malaysian online shoppers, almost 9 in 10 would spend up to RM500 monthly. This can be attributed to the large number of sites that offer vouchers, coupons and other forms of promotions.
You can find your proof of purchase more easily
With online shopping, you don’t have to worry about scattered printed receipts that can come in multiple sizes. Assuming you desperately need a refund, you can just log in to your email account and search for the receipt. It’s always a good idea to keep a record of what you buy. However, be warned that you need to be excellent in managing your emails.
You don’t have to put up with inadequate changing rooms when shopping for clothes
If you’re like me who cannot stand crammed and unhygienic fitting rooms, shopping for clothes at a physical retail store can be such a stressful affair. What’s worse is that sometimes, these fitting rooms do not provide a sufficient number of hooks. With online shopping, there’s no need to worry about space and the number of hooks the retailer provides.
You can find more variety
With the exception of on-demand items, you can be sure to find more variety when shopping online. Don’t be surprised if you end up feeling dizzy just because choices are aplenty. Online shopping has made it even more necessary for local retailers to measure up to the standards of regional and worldwide brands.
You can expect online grocery shopping to be seamless
There’s no need to fret about being unable to find a parking spot at your favourite supermarket. Besides being a good option for those on a budget, you can choose to either collect your items from the store or to have it delivered to your doorstep. Good grocers should be able to deliver quality goods and products. If quality and freshness are compromised, consumers should be able to seek a refund. What more can you ask for?
You can avoid physical fights during periods of high demands
It is a general conception that shoppers would expect a pleasurable shopping experience. However, during periods of high demands for deals or offers, there may be cases of physical fights if one were to shop at a physical retail store. You’d not witness these if you’re shopping online.
You don’t have to worry about the physical aspects of the store or the mall
If you’re shopping at a small outlet, you might worry about space. On the other hand, if you’re shopping at a mall, besides the space of the outlet, you might come across lifts, escalators and washrooms that are poorly maintained. Online shopping saves you from putting up with these aspects.
